App layering appliance system OS upgrade

The operating system used for the App Layering appliance is CentOS 7, which is now end-of-life.

Releasing soon is an appliance that will be running a modern version of Linux. The new appliance will provide improved supportability, security compliance, and other benefits.

It is important to note that there will not be an in-place upgrade from the CentOS 7 appliance, to the new Linux version. You will need to download and deploy a new appliance running the new version of Linux, and then migrate your data from the old appliance to the new.

We will be providing a new product feature which you can use to automatically migrate your App Layering appliance configuration to a newly-deployed appliance running the new operating system. This feature will be released as a final update to the current CentOS 7 appliance, as well as with the new release for use to migrate appliances in the future.
